LINEUP OF DAY
The tour is specially created for families. If you visit the “capital of the north” you can’t miss this spots. We will start our tour at Goðafoss waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. It drops 12 meters and has a width of 30 meters. The name of Goðafoss stems from when the conversion to Christianity was made in the year 1000.
We will visit the Akureyri town area and our first stop will be at the Christmas House which is a quaint little gift shop that makes you get in the spirit of Christmas anytime of the year. It’s always counting down the days to Christmas, but no matter how far away it is, you can buy Christmas gifts, decorations and even traditional Icelandic Christmas food any day of the year.
Next stop is at The Akureyri Botanical Gardens that function both as a public park with decorative plants and as a botanical garden with a noteworthy collection of specimens from the Icelandic flora along with imported flowers, trees and shrubs.
The last stop of our tour will be the Akureyri city center, where we will enjoy walking around and getting to know this city, that is full of secrets and legends.
